Step 1: Trademark Search
We check the availability of your trademark by conducting a search in the Ukrainian trademark databases.
A detailed report is sent to your email within approximately 24 hours after payment.
Step 2: Preparation and Filing of the Application
We prepare and file the application with the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Office (Ukrpatent).
Step 3: Filing Date Establishment
The filing date is officially recorded. This stage includes the registration of initial documents, formal examination, and entry of data into the trademark database.
Step 4: Publication and Opposition Period
If the application meets formal requirements, your trademark is published in the official bulletin of the Office, allowing third parties to file oppositions within three months.
Step 5: Formal Examination
The Office reviews your application for compliance with the formal filing requirements.
Step 6: Substantive (Qualification) Examination
The Office examines the mark for compliance with legal requirements — whether it is descriptive, distinctive, and not identical or confusingly similar to earlier trademarks or pending applications.
This stage ends with either a positive decision or a preliminary refusal, for which an argumented legal response must be prepared.
Step 7: Registration and Publication
After a positive decision, the details of your trademark are published in the Official Bulletin “Industrial Property”, and the certificate of registration is issued in electronic form.
